A&R's autumn elopement at the Old Marylebone Town Hall

An intimate wedding in the Paddington Room at Old Marylebone Town Hall

London elopement photos

When you get a beautiful sunny day in October, it is about the loveliest month of the year. The light is low and soft most of the day, and there are so many gorgeous warm autumn colours around. Aislinn and Richard’s tiny wedding at the Old Marylebone Town Hall last October was one of those days. Instead of having a big traditional Irish wedding back at home, they decided to do what they love - travelling together - and came to their favourite city, London to elope. Aislinn brought her dad along, who was one of the witnesses along with me. I feel always feel quite honoured to be asked to witness a marriage, as it’s such a special and significant occasion to be part of, so I was extra excited to be there.

I met Aislinn and Richard at the Landmark Hotel, where they were staying for a few informal getting ready photos. As the town hall is just across the road, we walked together and took a few photos along the way. Their wedding was on a Thursday, so the town hall was pretty quiet, and we had a bit of time to take photos in the hallways and staircases, which is always lovely.

Their intimate ceremony in the Paddington Room was so beautiful and special, and we even managed to throw some confetti - well, sadly I needed both hands to take photos, so it was all on Aislinn’s dad who did a marvellous job! We then went for a nice little stroll around the streets with just the two of them for more photos, before jumping in a cab to the park to capture some of that glorious autumn colour. There were still lots of roses out too, so we were lucky to get a wonderful variety in backdrops for their photos. I left them before they went for dinner to celebrate. A perfect London elopement.
