When lockdown 2.0 was suddenly announced back in October, Rachel and Scott’s wedding at Old Marylebone Town Hall was going to be a Covid casualty for a third time! But not so… after a quick word with the town hall staff on Monday morning, they were able to bring forward their ceremony by a few days, and get married the day before lockdown.

Rachel and Scott were definitely the happiest people I’ve seen in a while - having finally got there. Even if it was all a bit rushed - they had less than 24 hours’ notice, and Rachel dashed off to her local Sainsbury’s the night before to find some last minute flowers plus a bit of greenery from the garden, and only two guests were present. But it was a totally gorgeous and special day, because the thing that really matter happened - they are now husband and wife. It will also make a good story to tell!

The Old Marylebone Town Hall have been real superstars during these turbulent times, holding ceremonies until 11pm on the day before lockdown to allow those who were supposed to get married within a few days to still go for it.

I think for so many couples now it’s just a matter wanting to get married, regardless of how many guests they can have, or whether they can have a party or not. After months and months of uncertainty and endless postponements, all that matters now is actually get married to the person you love, and be done with all that stress. I’m so happy for these two, and look forward to capturing more micro-weddings over the coming months as we slowly emerge from these crazy times.

“We were so lucky for Diana to capture our special day. She made us feel so relaxed on the day and it shows in the beautiful, natural photos! To top it off, with lockdown announced last minute, she moved her other photoshoot to later in the day so she could shoot our wedding. We could not recommend Diana enough!”
