How I work

I'm a full-time wedding and portrait photographer, and weddings are what I know, love and do best! I also know that capturing weddings is a big responsibility - after all, you'll be reliving your big day through your wedding photos for many years to come. It's therefore very important to me to spend time with each couple before their wedding to understand what you are looking for in your photographs and talk through your plans. We usually get to know each other better during an engagement session, and I happily bring my experience of having photographed dozens of weddings to your planning process and give advice on timing and the itinerary for your big day.

I may already know your venue, but will always visit it again close to your wedding day, and make a plan for your photos to ensure everything runs smoothly on the day. On your wedding day, I'll give you direction during your family and bridal photos, but otherwise, you will notice little of me. I will capture your wedding discreetly, bringing across all the emotions and details in a beautiful, artistic visual story that's unique to you.

Should I book one or two photographers?

It's entirely up to you. I usually recommend getting a second photographer if you'd like photos of the boys getting ready, as well as the bride, or if  you have more than 100 guests and are keen to get lots of candid shots of your guests. You will receive more photographs if you book 2 photographers and we are able to capture more angles, which is particularly helpful during the ceremony.

What is your style of photography?

My style of photography is light, natural and creative, and I love working with my natural surroundings to create artistically composed and beautifully lit photographs with a bright and airy feel. I mix an editorial style of photography to capture all the special moments, laughs and emotions of the day, with more posed photographs of family, bridal party and bride and groom. To me, the most important thing is that my photographs are natural and authentic and really bring across what you and your special day are all about.

What equipment do you use?

I use professional Canon equipment and have a wide selection of lenses, so can capture a range of different focal lengths, no matter how small or large your venue is. I also carry lighting for darker venues, as well as backup equipment, so there's no need to worry about any technical failures on the day.

Are you insured?

Yes, I have equipment and public liability insurance.

How and when to book

If you are getting married between April and October, I suggest you book at least 12 months in advance, as I tend to get booked up quickly during these busy months. Otherwise, as soon as possible really! Once you sent in your booking form and paid your deposit, your date is all yours.

Can we have a chat before we book?

Absolutely! I would love to meet with you and hear more about your plans for the big day. I'm happy to show you a bit more of my work too, and we can both make sure that we're a good fit for each other.
